Turkey trot 10k. It was slippery. But it’s the first race since half on October 20th. Also my first race running by myself. None of my kids along side. I was anxious but ended up loving it. I see more in my future.

Turkey trot with my little guy. He ran his first 5k. He’s 5. He begged me to let him run it. This mommy PR’ed and got a 2nd place medal for my age group. I gave it to this little cutie because he made me so proud to be his mom. (And he also cried because he didn’t get a medal. Lol )

Hello friends! One thing I’ve learned over the past year of being on tumblr is what an incredibly supportive community this is.

As you are aware, I am very excited to have the opportunity to run the 2014 Boston Marathon representing House of Possibilites(HOPe) as a member of Team HOPe!

As many of you fellow parents are aware, being a parent is a full-time job. However, if you are a parent to a child with developmental disabilities, there is even less of an opportunity for a break. Imagine never being able to do the mundane things that many of us take for granted, such as going to a movie, going to lunch, or perhaps indulging in a mani/pedi because you child requires you to provide 24/7 care.

House of Possibilities provides those parents and families with that opportunity to have a little break by providing respite care. To learn more about the organization, please visit their website at www.houseofpossibilities.org.

Consider the fact that you may spend $15 to go to a movie, $25 for a lunch date, or perhaps $50 for a mani/pedi. Would you consider giving up just one of those, in order to support an organization that will provide an opportunity for families with children with developmental disabilities to enjoy the same? What are you willing to give up? I have personally given up all three, plus a couple of Heath Bar Blizzards.

I have quite a lofty fundraising goal at $5,000. However, if every single one of my followers decided to give up just one movie and donated $15 to my Boston Marathon Fundraiser, I would crush my goal! I have already seen the power that tumblr has when I was questioned regarding being a charity runner. Show me that power again! Please, also, don’t forget to take advantage of company matching funds! This will make your dollar go so much further! Please click here to get to my fundraising page.

I understand that not everybody is willing or able to donate $15. Any amount you can afford is welcome and it will all be put to good use. (There is a minimum of $10 to donate online, but if you would like to send a check, message me and I will get you my address.) If you can do nothing else, I ask that anyone and everyone please reblog this to get the word out.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and thank you in advance for your support in getting me to the 2014 Boston Marathon!

Boosting! Let’s all support our favorite true runner!!!

We did it. I loved it and can’t wait to do another. Still a little emotional. Running it with my oldest daughter was so amazing. I can’t wait to see our finish picture.

When do the sore legs go away?

Running my first half marathon tomorrow with this beautiful girl, my daughter. I’m a little…or a lot nervous. Going to carb load and then try and sleep.

I really like cheesy, inspirational quotes. Sure, most of them don’t stay with me beyond the few moments it takes to read them, but occasionally I stumble upon one I really like.

Here’s a collection of some of of the ones I’ve stumbled across in the past few months, (don’t read too much into…
